CONDITION OF HOUSE

HEALTH OFFICER'S REPORT A report on a two-storey wooden house in the . city, which had been inspected as a result of a complaint received by the Minister of Health, the Hon. P. Kraser. was made to the City Council last night by the medical ollicer of health. Dr. T. .J. Hughes. It was stated that there were 39 bedrooms in the house and that in practically all of them there had been installed a sjas ring or cooker. There was a bathroom on the ground floor and two sinks at the back of the premises. There was no kitchen and no sitting room. It was decided to refer the complaint to the city solicitor with the object of proceedings being instituted against the occupier under the by-laws.
