ELDERLY MAORI'S FATE TAURANGA BRIDGE DISCOVERY [BY TELEGRAPH—OAVN CORRESPONDENT] TAURANGA, Monday Tho body of an elderly jNlaori, belioved to bo Mr. Sam Tu, of Matapihi, near Tauranga, was discovered 011 tlio Tauranga Bridge at about seven o'clock this ovening. The man had boon'struck by a train, and from the nature of the injuries it is thought that death would bo instant. Tho discovery was made by another Maori, Mr. baulkner, of Matapihi, when he was walking into Tauranga. Tho body was lying 011 a girder about a quarter of the way across the bridge, on tho Matapihi side. Tho Tauranga police were notified and tho body was brought to tho mortuary. An inquest will bo opened to-morrow morning.
