CHILDREN'S BALL

PAPAKURA SCHOOL One of the largest fancy dress balls ever held in connection with the Papakura district school took place this week in the Windsor Theatre, when over 250 pupils wore fancy dresses of all varieties. The large gallery, sides of the hall and stage were packed with spectators. The proceedings opened with the grand inarch played by the orchestra under the direction of Mr. T. Walker, following which a programme of dances, choruses and choral speaking was presented by the pupils in the primers, Standards 1., 11., 111. and IV. and Forms I. and 11. All was under the personal direction of , the headmaster, Mr. T. N. Pemberton, and his staff. The judges were Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Penrose, of Auckland.
