MAORI GIRL AIDED FUNDS FOR EDUCATION SUCCESSFUL BRIDGE PARTY To raise funds to assist with the education of a Maori girl, the Victoria League Ever Ready Committee held , a bridge party on Thursday afternoon in the league rooms. The players were received by the chairman, Mrs. L. S. Rickerby, assisted by the honorary secretary, Miss Eve Keesing, and Mrs. H. Gulliver. The hostesses wore:—Mrs. Preston Chambers, Mrs. Black, Mrs. Tyne,. Mrs. Cleal, Mrs. Crawford Young, Mrs. Hemus, Miss Lorie. A brief speech was made by Mrs. Rickerby, in which she explained what was being done by the league in connection with this educational effort, and at the end of the afternoon Mrs. J. Col will, on behalf of the Te Akarana Association, thanked those present for their interest and help. The winners of the hidden numbers were: —Contract, Mrs. A. D.
