CHORAL WEDDING

WALLIS—HANSELL BRIDE IN MAGNOLIA SATIN A fully choral wedding took place at All Saints' Church, Ponsonby, on Saturday afternoon, when Miss Hilda Grace Hansell, only daughter of Mr. J. W. Hansell, of Ponsonby, and the late Mrs. Hansell, was married to Mr. John William Wallis, elder son of Mrs. A. P. Allen, of Sandringham. The church had been decorated by meinbers of the Girls' Friendly Society, to which the bride had belonged. The Rev. Canon W. W. Averill performed the ceremony, assisted by the Very Rev. Dean Fancourt, and tho organist was Dr. S. K. Phillips. A solo was sung by Miss Lilian Kennedy. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a simple frock of magnolia satin, with a heart-shaped neckline, pointed waist, and long tightly-fitting sleeves. The full back panel of the skirt fell to form a train, which was caught in scallops -with sprays of orange blossom. Her veil of magnolia tulle, embroidered with true lovers' knots, which she wore over her face as she entered the church, was attached with a halo coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf bouquet of cream carnations, roses and dahlias. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Freda Barker and Miss Phyllis Shilling, who wore picture frocks of honey gold satin-backed taffetas, with short, puffed sleeves, and fully flared skirts. Sprays of violets caught the high, pointed necklines, and their gold tulle caps were held in plnco with wreaths of the same flowers. They carried crescent-shaped bouquets of violets. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Edward Collett, as best man, and Mr. Thomas Ostler, as groomsman. The ushers were Mr. E. Allen and Mr. A. C. Barnes. As the bridegroom was cubmaster of the No. 1 Mount Albert Cubs, members of tho group formed a guard of honour as tho bride and bridegroom loft tho church. At the conclusion of the ceremony a reception was held at the New Savoy De Luxe, Karangahape Road, which had been decorated with flowers in shades of gold and violet. The guests were received by the bride's aunt, Mrs. J. Todd, who wore a navy tailored suit, fur necklet, and navy velvet hat. She carried a posy in mauve and violet tonings. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Allen, wore a navy blue costume with matching accessories, and carried a cyclamen shaded posy.

CAMPBELL—G ACER An interesting wedding was celebrated at Sti James" Presbyterian Church, Auckland, on Saturday afternoon, when Miss Gwendoline Leila Gager, older daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B, Gager, the Totaras, Hikurangi. was married to Mr. Ronald Dugald Campbell, elder son of Mr. 1). N. Campbell, Rcmucra. The ceremony was performed . by the Rev. R. Langlnnds Walker, and Mr. French presided at the organ. The bride, escorted by her father, looked charming in her gown of iceblue Persian lamb satin, fashioned with draped bodice and V-ncckline, the skirt of which fell into a very long full train. The veil of ico-blue tulle formed a second train and was held by a coronet of silver roses. The bride carried a bouquet of cream roses and freezias. In attendance on the bride Ayas her sister, Mrs. ii. Jackson, as matron-of-honour, and Miss Jean Campbell as bridesmaid. Both were dressed alike in frocks of white marquisette with taffetas boleros. The skirt hems were finished with a deep scalloped hand of cornflower blue taffetas anpliqncd in a design of poinsettias. Tliey carried posies of blue tingitana irises and freezias, and wore a spray of irises in their hair. Little Ross Jackson attended as page-boy wearing an Kton suit ol ice-f)ltier satin and white marquisette blouse with pleated front and collar. Mr. J.' Campbell was best man and Mr. R. Gager was groomsman. The ushers wore Mr. Lindsay Drummond and Mr. Gavin Davidson. Over a, hundred guests attended a reception at tho Parnell Park Kiosk, where Mrs. Gager received wearing a forest green frock, with gold embroidery and a squirrel lock cape. She carried a posy of violets and daphne. Mrs. D. N. Campbell wore a black costume with white satin blouso and furs and carried ft posj' of Iceland poppies.
