WRESTLING CONTEST
ATTRACTION FOR TO-NIGHT
An exciting wrestling contest, in which speed and skill aro expected to prove outstanding features, should result at the Town Hall this evening, when Ignacio Martinez, the giant Spaniard, will engage Rollend Kirchmeyer. In his previous nppearanco in Auckland against Boesch, Martinez impressed as a wrestler well above the average. Ha possesses remarkable strength, with which he combines great agility and science, and ho appears likely to be one of the most successful matmen in New Zealand this season. Although in his bout with Boesch tho Spaniard was matched with an opponent noted for his elusiveness and speed, he did not suffer in comparison with tho volatilo Frenchman.
Martinez's opponent to-night, Kirchmeyer, has gained a large following throughout the Dominion as a result of his excellent displays. He has a match-winning hold in his pvthon clutch, to which nono of his opponents lias yet, found an effective counter, and it will be interesting to see whether he can trap the wily Spaniard with his specialty. Kirchmeyer is an exceptionally tall wrestler and his height and reach should balance the slight disadvantage ho will probably have to face as regards weight and strength.
