TRIPLE MURDER
ACCUSED CONDEMNED TASMANIAN TRAGEDY HOBART, June 23 Sentence of death has been imposed on Cyril Estcourt, aged 30, for the murder of his wife, aged 19, and two men. The jury added a recommendation to mercy because of his mentality.
Mrs. Doreen Estcourt, Mr. Norman Williams, aged 50, and Mr. Alfred Webb, aged 55, were found shot dead at Grass Tree Hill, near Hobart, on April 24. Neighbours reported that they saw Mrs. Estcourt, pursued by a man, running in the direction of a house occupied by Mr. Williams, his wife and family. Mr. Williams was shot through the heart, as was Mr. Webb, who lived near by and who was almost blind.
