WERAROA FARM TROUBLE
TWO CONSTABLES RETURN NO FURTHER INCIDENTS [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] PALMERSTON NORTH, Friday It was learned to-day that Constables Scanlon, of Wellington, and Turvey, of Palmerston North, returned to the Weraroa Training Farm yesterday. It was reported that a police detachment had been sent to tho farm on Tuesda}' afternoon, after serious disturbances among the inmates, culminating in an attempt to set fire to some of tho buildings. However, it appeared that those responsible for the trouble had resumed their normal routine, with the result that a police-sergeant and four constables were withdrawn. Why the two constables were recalled is -not known. There have been no further untoward incidents at tho farm.
