FALL FROM WINDOW
VISITOR'S FATAL INJURIES , An inquest into tlio death of William Caleb Smith, aged oG, an overseer employed by the Housing Construction Department at Whangarei, was conducted yesterday by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt. Deceased, who had been found lying in his night attire on the pathway below bis room in a private hotel at Kmilv Place at 11 p.m. on .May la, died in the Auckland Hospital on May IG. Dr. C. C. Ming said that deceased had suffered head wounds, which wen; followed by anuria. Death was duo to inhalation pneumonia, which was contracted during the accident.
ICvidencc was given that the lower part of the window of deceased's room was open. The room was orderly and there were 110 signs of a struggle. A verdict of death from injuries received when deceased accidentally fell from the window was returned.
