Fraser, to further efforts to reduce the accident and drowning fatality rate, nearly .'{oo Tiiranaki teachers are to hear weekly lectures and demonstrations at 12 centres on first aid treatment, in which they will instruct pupils in the third term this year. They represent about SO per cent of the profession in the Taranaki education district. When the scheme was mooted, the St. John Ambulance Association undertook to deliver courses of instruction to classes of children, but lliat method was not suitable in Taranaki.
