95 YEARS OF AGE
HAMILTON RESIDENT [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Friday Olio of the oldest residents of Hamilton, Mr. J. D. Irenionger, of Rostrevor Street, will celebrate his 95th birthday to-morrow. in London in 1844, Mr. Irenionger came to New Zealand at the age of 30 in the ship Cardvine. The trip was an eventful one, 20 passengers dying from an epidemic of croup which broke out among the passengers and crew. Mr. Ircmonger spent 30 years at Blenheim. About 26 years ago lie came to Hamilton, and since then lie has spent nearly all his time in the Waikato.
Mr. Ircmonger formed the first Salvation Army corps in Blenheim. For some years he lias been deprived of his sight, but lie still maintains a cheerful outlook on life. He lias seven sons and four daughters living. There are 27 grandchildren and 29 great-grand-children.
