RATES FOR NEW YEAR SMALL ADJUSTMENTS MADE Notice that lie intended to move the formal adoption of rates for the financial year, 10:30-40, at the next meeting of the Manukau County Council was given by the chairman, Mr. !' • M. Waters, at yesterday's meeting of the council. Explaining that, generally. the total rate revenue would he the same as last year, the county clerk, Mr. E. Ashcroft, said some small adjustments had been made. The hospital rate remained the same, as that struck in the previous year was barely sufficient to cover the levy made by the Auckland Hospital Board. The consolidated rate for the various ridings is given below, the only changes from the previous year being in the rate for the Papakura and Papatoetoe ridings:—Mangere Riding. 2d in the pound capital value, no increase; Pakuranga Hiding. li»d, no increase; Papakura Riding, 1 2.'i-:52d. increase of 5-64 d; Papatoetoe Riding, 1 47-G4d, increase of 1-0 Id; Turanga Riding, 2 10-.'i2d. no increase; Wairoa Riding, 2 5-.'i2d, no increase
