BOXING

BOUTS TO-MORROW NIGHT TWO PROFESSIONAL MATCHES The boxing carnival to bo staged at the Town Hall to-morrow night is attracting much interest. The main bout of the evening, between Percy Kelly, of Auckland, and Harry Summers, the brilliant Australian, is largely the result of popular demand —tho Auckland public being more than favourably impressed by Summers' bright exhibition against Brian McKay, whom he defeated on points. Kelly is considered by those competent to judge to be the hardest puncher in tho light-weight division, and thero is no doubt that ho improves in general ringcraft with every contest. Whether he will prove clever enough to outwit his more experienced opponent is doubtful, but he will certainly provido tho spectators with' plenty of thrills. The preliminary bout, hetween George Allen, of Auckland, and Cliff Hanhatn, of Waimate, is the result of protracted negotiations by the Auckland association to secure this tall middle-weight, who has won such an enthusiastic following in tho south, and there is no doubt that his first appcarahce in Auckland will prove a popular draw. Although he already holds a decision over Allen from last year, the latter has progressed steadily this season and thero is every likelihood that the result will bo in the balance until the final gong. Several amateur bouts have been selected for the preliminaries, and, as is usual, should provide' an attractive portion of the programme.
