SUPPLY OF WATER
NORTH SHORE BOROUGHS OPPOSITION TO INQUIRY Emphatic opposition to the augmentation of Lake Pupuke by water from the Wairau Valley was expressed in a resolution of the Takapuna Borough Council. The council's decision is to be communicated to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry. It was decided to inform the Minister -that, as the City Council had agreed to construct a main to the Devonport borough boundary and supply water at a reasonable price, and as the Takapuna Borough Council was emphatically opposed to augmentation of Lake Pupuke by water from the Wairau Valley, no good purpose would bo served by holding an inquiry as suggested by the North Shoro Boroughs Water Board.
