MARAMARUA HUNT
PUKEKAWA WARD MEET [from our own correspondent] TUAKAU. Friday The first meet of the Pukekawa word of the Maramarua Hunt was held at Pukekawa this week. Followers gathered at the residence of Mr. L. Catheart for morning tea. Mr. Walter, ward president, welcomed the visitors and thanked the property owners for the use of their farms. . The bounds threw oft' over .Mr. L. Cathcart's property, which was worked without success. Crossing to Mr. R. Ingram's farm, a strong hare was raised and it gave a good run through Mr. Ingram's and Messrs. Hunter Brothers' properties to be lost in barred country. Two more hares were raised in Messrs. Hunter Brothers' property, but both ran through Mr. I. Cathcart's property to barred country after a short run of about half a mile. Working back, another scent was raised on Messrs. Hunter Brothers 1 farm and gave a good run through Mr. I. Cathcart's farm back into Messrs. Hunter Brothers', where it was lost in swamp. The hounds were then worked back through Messrs. Hunter Brothers' and It. Ingram's properties without success.
Followers returned after an enjoyable clay to the residence of Mr. Cathcart for afternoon tea. Among the followers were:—The huntsman, Mr. S. Symes. on Larry; the field master. Mr. L. Drake, on Lady Grey; A. Higgins, on Nugget; T. Thomas, on Old Bill; D. Tumata, on Dark Lady; T. McGuire, on Sheila; J, Miller, on Tui; E. Adams, on Warrior; S. Donnelly, on Wildfire; B.
