WORK OF PAPAKURA LEAGUE
"I have always felt that the work of the league was necessary to the district," said the Mayor, Mr. S. Evans, at the annual meeting of the Papakura Social Welfare League. The annual report disclosed that relief liad been given to those in distress, and although the need for assistance had decreased, there were still at times very urgent cases. The balance-sheet showed a small credit balance. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron. Mrs. 11. E. McEntee; president. Mrs. J. .Tarvie; vice-pre-sidents, Mrs. J. P. Wilson and Mrs. E. Busing; honorary secretary, Mrs. H. C. Bault; honorary treasurer, Mrs. .T. Wishart; executive committee, Mrs. D. J. Graham, Mrs. G. W. Lock. Mrs. V. Houghton, Adjutant and Mrs. McDonald, Mrs. TL D. Cronin. Mrs. PerryTavlor, Mrs. W. Linden, Mrs. W. Rankin; auditor, Mr. B. C. Carpenter.
