MOUNT ROSKILL POLL

Sir, —I wish to protest against the attitude of the Mount Roskill Road Board in refusing to send out the annual statements for water consumption until after an election. I consider that if these statements are sent out immediately they are prepared it gives all ratepayers an equal opportunity to vote, whether they pay their water rates annually, half-annually or quarterly, as many of the ratepayers have only small amounts and prefer to make the one payment instead of having the inconvenience of remitting small amounts by postal note. 1 telephoned the board office a week before the election demanding the annual statement, and again on the day of the poll, and was refused, although the clerk admitted that the statement was ready for posting and had been ready for some time. Voter.
