THROWN FROM SLEDGE
TUAKAU GIRL'S DEATH HORSE SHIES AND T3OLTS . .. X An inquest mtp the death of a schoolgirl, Molly Hoete, aged 11, of Tuakau, which occurred in the Auckland Hospital on April 4, was concluded by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, yesterday. Evidence was given by the girl's father, Tipa Hoete, that on April 2 he sent his daughter on a sledge drawn by a horse to get a cream, can of water* from a creek. The horse, which was usually quiet and docile, shied and bolted, and deceased was thrown to the ground. Dr. J. M. Staveley said death was due to concussion associated with a fracture of the skull and hemorrhage into the brain.
The coroner's verdict was that tho girl had died' from injuries accidentally received while riding on ft sledge.
