FIRE IN WORKSHOPS
TELEGRAPH BUILDING FLAMES QUICKLY SUPPRESSED A fire broke out in the Post and Telegraph Department electrical workshops in Stanley Street about 5.15 p.m. yesterday. Two machines from the central fire station and one from Pnrnell attended and the flames were quickly suppressed. The middle portion of the top floor suffered damage by fire and the remainder was damaged by heat and smoke. The building is a threestorey one and the . top floor was well alight when the brigade arrived.
