RESTORE UNITY
AUSTRALIAN LABOUR PROPOSAL FOR CONFERENCE NEW SOUTH WALES QUARRELS CANBERRA, May 4 The inter-State conference of the Australian Labour Party decided to convene a conference in Sydney of all Labour organisations, in the hope of restoring unity in the Labour movement in New South Wales. This decision is a rebuff to the Lang faction, which sponsored the motion favouring the straight-out absorption of the Heffron Industrial Labour Party. The chairman of the conference, Mr. N. J. O. Makin* received a cablegram from the New Zealand Labour Party expressing hopes for unity in the Australian Labour movement, and best wishes for success at the next Federal elections.
