AUSTRALIAN SINGER
ARRIVAL IN DOMINION PLANS UPSgT BY ACCIDENT [BY TELEGRAPH—-'PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Wednesday The well-known Australian singer Miss Gladys Moncrieff arrived to-day by the Wanganella just about twelve months later than she had intended. This was caused by a motoring accident which befel her and her manager, Mr. I. Iredale, in March last year, putting her into hospital for 24 weeks. t Miss Moncrieff has made an excellent recovery, although her left ankle still gives trouble, and it is necessary for her to use a stick to walk. Mr. Iredale and Miss E, Wilson are both with her, also her two dogs, Chips and Chang. She will rest for two months in the South Island and afterward undertake a tour under engagement to the National Broadcasting Service. Thereafter she returns to Australia for a concert tour with several others.
