SUBUEBS DEFEATED honours to mount albert SOUND TACKLING OF WINNERS Good tackling by Mount Albert was a great factor in the team's victory against Eastern Suburbs, of Sydney, by 16 points to 11 at Carlaw Park yesterday afternoon. The came was interesting throughout and Mount Albert proved a good spoiling team. The visitors did not field their strongest side and made the play mostly for their forwards. A feature of the came was the splendid play of the Mount Albert vanguard, which paved the way for the team's success. Shadtjolt played one of his best games. He was always in the picture and tackled splendidly. Hansen was also prominent and initiated several successful attacking bouts. He was well supported by Herring. Behind tiio pack, Wilson played well and in the second half Banham proved a thorn in the side of the opposition. Hardgrave, on the wing, played a good game.

Visitors' Best Forwards The inside backs, Pickup and Quealey, were the best of the Eastern Suburbs' rearguard. Hyde and O'Loan showed glimpses ot improved form. Pierce and Griffiths were the best forwards, while Stehr and Watt also played good games. The teams were as follows: • Eastern Suburbs.—Fullback, Sharman; threequarters. Tottey.
