DANCE AT TAIPUHA
To mark the coining of eiectric power to the district a social evening was held in the Taipuha Hall this week. Ihe hall was filled'with a large and representative gathering and, for the early part of the evening candles were the form of illumination, to be replaced later by electric light after the switching-on ceremony. Mr. H. MeCarro'l opened the proceedings and apologised for the absence ol the Jit. Hon. J. G. Coates. The chairman of the North Auckland Power Board, Mr. J. A. McLean, also spoke. After an interval for supper the floor was cleared for dancing, Mr. G. McAulay and Mr. W. Thome having charge of the floor arrangements.
