PONSONBY CLUB'S SEASON SEVERAL PROMISING PLAYERS The president. Mr. J. Arneil, presided al< the annual meeting of the Ponsonby Rugby League Club. The' report stated that tbere were several promising players in all grades, particularly the sixth grade and schoolboys' teams. Representative honours were won-by tho following:—A.. Kay (New Zealand), C Petersen, E. Morgan, J. Campbell and B. Riley- (Auckland). . : The patron, Mr. W. Grant, presented a life-membership badge to Mr. L. Mortensen. He referred to Mr. Mortensen's loyal support of the club. . , • . , it _ Mr. G. Grey Campbell, chairman of the Auckland Rugby League, referred to the forthcoming tour of the New Zealand team to England. He said that., tho- loyal support of all players was'needed this season, particularly when the New Zealand team had left. In spite of adverse criticism about sending the team, he was confident that New Zealand footballers, were now in a .position to show a high standard against any overseas combinations. , , '-t The financial statement showed a profit of £SO for 'the season's -working;- Thanks were due to the dance and social committee, whose activities raised £4O. The assets were 6hown at £221 and the liabilities. nil. The following officers were elected.—Patron, Mr ;W. E. Grant; president, Mr. J. Arneil; vice-presidents, all re-elected; secretary, Mr. j W; Grieves; treasurer, Mr. T. G. McKeown; club captain. Mr. P. Rush; selector, Mr. G: Campbell; committee, Messrs. R. Francis., K. Carlaw, D.
