EXPORT OF APPLES
The first consignment of apples to be exported from Otago for the English market was loaded this week on the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Tongariro at Port Chalmers. It is unusual for apples to be ready for export so early in the season. In all, 500 cases w.ere loaded, consisting mostly of Worcester Permains, together with a few cases of Cox's (grange Pippins..
