A NEW DELEGATE
LABOUR COUNCIL VOTE The Auckland council of the Federation of Labour has replaced Mr. T. Stanley with Mr. F. G. Young, as its representative on the national council, according to reports made on Saturday. This decision is the direct outcome of a no-confidence motion in Mr. Stanley, which was passed at the instance of Mr Young, at a council meeting in December. It provided the outlet for many factional differences. The grounds for the original motion were stated to bo that Mr. Stanley opposed a recommendation made by the national body to the men involved in the Otahuhu railways workshops stopwork incident on November 2, 1939. that they should return to work until their grievances had been investigate'!. Mr. Stanley subsequently denied the allegation. , •Since then, Mr. Young circulated iv notice of motion that Mr. Stanley should be displaced as the national delegate from Auckland. The council has now voted upon the motion, and Mr. Young is declared the council's choice,
