Gentleman Joe, who won at Nelson pacing and trotting, is engaged in both departments at New Brighton. He is not without prospects in the Improvers' Handicap on 60 yards, and will add interest to the Belfast Handicap, for pacers, off the limit.

Great Jewel, when in Auckland, was a promising young horse and big things were expected of him when he joined R. B. Berry's stable. Recurring soreness kept him off the race track for a long period, but he is due to reappear at New Brighton to-day.

Having his first race since going into J. Bryce's stahle, Nervie's Last ran second to Icevus, who has won several races since his visit to Epsom, at Adclington last week. Nervie's Last is in the New Brighton Free-For-All.

Timworthy, the dual winner at the recent Wellington meeting, is one of the most improved trotters in the Dominion.

, When Franz Derby registered 3.18 for a second place to Gerfalcon at Hutt Park, she indicated that it would not be long before she won again. This was accomplished at the Addington meeting and the -mare should again race well at. New Brighton.

When racing at Nelson, Aqua Bond displayed a fine turn of speed, 'and although tiring at the end of two miles, won in 4.27, gave the impression that she would be difficult to beat in sprint events. She is on the limit of the mile saddle race at New Brighton.
