Goggle Wipers
As is generally realised by sporting motorists, when weather conditions are at their worst and the protection afforded bv goggles is most required, it is frequently necessary to change them, owing to interference with vision. A number of attempts have been made to provide wiping devices in emulation of the now universal windscreen wiper. According to a recent patent specification a German inventor has approached the _ problem from a new angle. The wiper blades are pivoted and lightly spring loaded to rest at one end of their arc of travel. Small levers attached to the wipers are connected to a detachable chin strap and actuation is effected by movement of the jaw. The inventor says: "A chewing movement can bo continued for long periods without discomfort."
