GOLF CONTESTS
TOUENEY AT ROTOEUA DOMINION PROFESSIONALS RECORD ENTRY RECEIVED [by telegraph —own correspondent] ROTORUA, Friday A record entry of 30 players has been received for the annual New Zealand golf professionals' tournament, which will be held at the Arikikapakapa course next week, commencing on Wednesday and closing on Friday. Included in the programme is the Ho torn a Provincial championship over 72 holes of medal play, the first round of which will commence on Thursday morning. The winner will receive the M. Houlihan Cup and also a stake of £75, while prizes totalling £3O are offered for each of the morning and afternoon rounds. The winner of the championship at Inver* cargill last year was A. Murray, of Auckland, who played brilliant golf over tho final round to defeat T. S. Galloway, then of Auckland and now professional to tho Rotorua Club. Both Murray and Galloway aro again entered, as also aro E. S. Douglas, A. Guy and B. J. Smith, jun., who were equal, third, in last year's championship. Tho list of entries is as follows: —W.
