VOLUNTARY SERVICE
> emergency measure $ MOVEMENT IN AUCKLAND .1 At the request of several ladies holdting office in various organisations, and lithe business girls of Auckland, Mrs. "\V R. Wilson held an afternoon rneetfjijtr at her home on Tuesday for the I purpose of talking over the question of voluntary service to bo rendered at any time of emergency. I" Much interesting and valuable dis'fcusion took place, and it was generally 'agreed that the most necessary start I'for training along these lines would be a thorough training in first aid. It was ; felt, that every girl would gain confidence in herself and be able to render Ijjjuch more valuable service with a knowledge of this subject. & The Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, was | approached and he was quite agreed Ithat these ladies could do nothing |letter than get as many girls as possible to take especial interest along Ithese lines. - jo this end it is asked that all girls fend women interested in fitting themselves for voluntary service should send . their names and addresses promptly by j:jetter to Mrs. W. R. Wilson, 25 Arney •Crescent, Remuera. 'f A register will then bo made of all tjiames,. and ns quickly as possible a Ijneeting will bo called, when classes in Jirst aid will be arranged.
