DANCE AT TIRAU

TENNIS CLUB FUNCTION RESIDENTS FAREWELLED PRESENTATIONS MADE To farewell Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Thomas, who will leave tho district shortly to reside at Tauranga, a very large number of friends gathered in tho Tirau Town Hall this week. The function was arranged by members of tho Tirau Tennis Club and took the form of a danci>.

Music was played by Mrs. Cotter and Mr. A. Robinson. A novelty waltz was won by Miss Valerie Giibb and Mr. Broward.

During the evening tho president of the Tirau Tennis Club, Mr. S. J. Bear, made the presentation of a silver teapot and a handsome leather suitcase to the guests of honour. Mr. Bear expressed regret at tho loss to tho district of two valued members who had entered wholeheartedly into local activities and social work. Musical honours and tho singing of Auld Lang Syno brought tho evening to a close. Among those present were:—Mrs. M. Harrison, Mrs. M. Strong, Mrs. Arthur Brown, Mrs. G. Brown, Mrs. W.
