COCKLE BAY NEEDS
DEPUTATION TO TOWN BOARD Tlid extension of the district water supply to include the Cockle Bay area was urged by a deputation from the Cockle Bay Progressive Association which attended a meeting of the Ho wick Town Board. The inconvenience at present experienced by many of the permanent residents during the dry season when they were dependent on tank supplies was pointed out by the members of the deputation, Messrs. J. J. Mulvihill and J. AV. Hamilton. The need was also stressed of bathing shed facilities, the provision of a small hall for social functions and shelter shed accommodation for bus passengers, especially at the beach terminal and at Hill's Corner. Members of the association, it was stated, guaranteed financial assistance in the erection of a hull and bathing sheds. The deputation was thanked for its representations, and sympathetic consideration of the requests was promised when the year's estimates are under review.
