Jk ■ tv • ~y\ { Entertainment to suit all tastes will be provided at the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association's summer show, which will bpen next at the Epsom Showgrounds. Large entries have been received in the various sections, which include cattle, horses, sheep and poultry, while the customary wide interest will attach to to the dahlia and arts and crafts sections.
J An attractive outdoor programme has been arranged for the two days of the show and a feature will be the chariot races, which proved so popular last year. The events to be held on the •Saturday evening comprise horse jumping, a pony handicap, an event for trotters and pacers and a saddle handicap of one mile, while greyhound racing, sheep-dog trials and wood-chopping contests will lend added interest. A special attraction for the afternoons and evening will be displays of horsemanship by' the American stunt rider "Daredevil" Frank McFarlane. and the Australian rough-rider Fred Yeomans. Well known in the United States and Canada, where he has competed and performed daring feats at rodeos and fairs, Frank McFarlane recently visited Melbourne and thrilled large crowds ■with his performances. At the gymkhana on the Saturday night he will stand astride two horses in Roman fashion and jump over flaming hurdles. Fred Yeomans will challenge all comers to a rough-riding competition. The displays by the two men will conclude with a spectacular contest, in which both will stand astride two horses and race over half a mile.
