HOLIDAY TOUR
PAETY OF AMERICANS USE OF PLEASURE SHIP DOMINION'S ATTRACTIONS I Having tho leisure to make such a cruise, and with pleasant memories of other vacations in the Pacific to encourage him to wander further afield, the owner of the visiting American pleasure schooner Navigator, Mr. G. Harton Singer, jun., of Pittsburgh, who arrived at Auckland by the Monterey yesterday, said he had no hesitation in coming half-way across tho world to test the attractions of New Zealand. He said he would not be satisfied with his present holiday if he were not able to see as many of the country's beauty spots and tourist resorts as possible.
Accompanying him on the Monterey as guests for the Navigator's cruise were Messrs. Biyan Dancy, Alexander Anderson, Thomas Balding, John Walker and Jack Moulton, all either from Pittsburgh or Baltimore. Mr. Singer hopes to leave Auckland in the Navigator to-day or to-morrow. The schooner will not return to port until about April, when all the guests except Mr. Dancy will leave for Honolulu. Mr. Singer and Mr. Dancy will remain on the Navigator and make a cruise to South Sea islands, including Rarotonga, Tahiti and Penrhyn, and possibly Pitcairn. They will then voyage to Honolulu, which they expect to reach about June 1. Mr. Dancy will return from there to the United States, but Mr. Singer will remain with the Navigator to spend the summer season at Hawaii.
While in New Zealand Mr. Singer hopes to sail in the Navigator around both the North and South Islands, although this part of the proposed itinerary depends upon the time available. However, both he and his guests will visit as many of the country's thermal districts and glaciers as they can, and will also spend some time trout and big-game fishing. They said they have all been looking forward very keenly to their New Zealand cruise, since they had heard so much from other Americans of the Dominion's beauties and of the sport it could offer on its streams and deep-sea fishing grounds.
