CHEVAL BE VOLEE'S ROUND

SCHOOLING OF JUMPERS

[BY TELEGRAPH —OWN COnnKSPONDKNXI HAMILTON, Thursday

Rounds by Respectful and Cheval do Voice and smart sprints by Forest Acre, Calorie, Ngawiri and Rollicker ■were features of this morning's work at Te Rapa, when the final trials for the Waikato meeting took place on the course proper, 60ft. out from the rails. Proceedings were enlivened by tho presence of a number of visiting horses. The going was hard and fast. Rival (Peters) was not asked for bis best to run five furlongs in 1.14 1-5. Later, the other member of S. G. Lindsay's stable, Silver Eaglo (Pet-ers), ran a similar distance just as easily in 1.14. Rollicker (Goulsboro) ran seven furlongs in 1.35. He ran his first quarter in 245, and the lialf-milo in sls, but •was easing up in the straight. He is in splendid condition. Beau Repaire (McKenzie) and Olympus (Goulsbro) ran bome at leisure from the half-mile in 595. Both look well. •• Coronation Not Extended

Coronation '(Farrell) was being held back to Forest Lake (Gollop) over the concluding stages of a round in 2.9 4-5, time on which Coronation could appreciably have improved. Ho is to run in the Waikato Hack Cup. Forest Acre possesses speed, but lacks stamina. Forest Acre (Gollop) staged the best gallop of the morning over seven furlongs, coming home in 1.33 4-5. He ran his first 'three furlongs in 38 3-5s and the half-mile in 52 l-ss. Ho is thriving on racing. A useful half-mile was that of Water Fox (Jones) and Midland (Gilmer), who finished together in 52 4-ss. Trig Station (Thompson) was clear of Friskland (Midwood) to record 545. Trig Station is in 11. Cotter's stable, and has been showing marked promise in his recent trials. Tosh (Gilmer) was not bustled at any stage to record 595. He looks none the worse for his race at Botorua. Senacre and a Colossus colt came home the last three furlongs of half a mile in 38 4-ss. Miss Clipper (Gilmer) finished a length in front of Wyndora (Jones) in 52 3-ss, a pleasing effort for their class. Meadow (Midwood) and Bronze Step , (Tremain) ran 53 4-5s well. Sound by Respectful Lornaere (McLaughlin) shaded llosojnae (Thomson) at the end of three furlongs in 37 l-ss. Rosemae is a five-year-old mare by Surveyor—Rita's Lass. Lornaere appears to be on the improve.

Respectful (McLaughlin) went a round with Kittle (Jones). After the V latter had set the pace for five fur- ' longs, Respectful cleared away and 'finished some 20 lengths in front. Tho r itst' r half-mile took 575, and the full . distance 2.5 3-5. Respectful should strip in good heart for the Storey Memorial Handicap. Vitement and Hunto got to the end of six furlongs in 1.23 3-5. Awhiowhio (Tremain) and Te Morehu (McKenzie) ran seven furlongs in 1.39. Te Slorehu has run useful races this sea- { son, and should race prominently in tne Beerescourt Handicap., Ngawiri (Jones), in galloping half a mile in 525, returned the best figures , of the morning over the distance. Ngarwiri will need only to reproduce her s. ; : ifiumata form to win further races for A. C. Jones. Calorie (Jones) hit out over six furlongs in 1.2*. nd--7 versity (Ensor) took 1.23 2-5. balance of the ,morning's fast was accomplished* i>n the plough, which also provided fast- going. High Delight Pleases |%| ; High Delight (Peters) ran home three furlongs in 36 4-ss, a pleasing effort. The Storey Memorial Handicap candidate, Lady Montana, recorded -12s. She looks in good heart. Gav Chou (Gilmer) was exercised at half-pace. Do Friend (Muir), after running to th<» five-furlong post under a firm hold, sped p! up to cover a round in 1.51.
