SEAMAN BEFORE COURT three: charges admitted Three charges of theft were preferred against a seaman, John Graham, aged 19, in the Police Court before Mr. C. It. Orr Walker, S.M., yesterday. Accused, who pleaded guilty, was charged with the theft of 10s, the property of George Lemon: with the theft of a coat, valued at £2, the property of William Henry Butcher; and with the theft of a wristlet watch, valued at 5s 6d, the property of Walter Keys. Sub-Inspector J. Fox, who prosecuted, said the accused was employed on the steamer Maimoa. On Tuesday accused visited the Rangitiki and the thefts were committed there. Accused said he had gone to the Rangitiki while under the influence of liquor. Accused was fined £3 on the charge of stealing the coat and was directed to be placed on board the Maimoa before she sailed for London yesterday afternoon. On the remaining charges he was remanded for sentence until to-day.
