AUCKLAND REGIMENT

BAND'S NEW INSTRUMENTS PRESENTATION CEREMONY A new set of instruments was presented to tho band of the regiment by Colonel N. L. Macky, a former commanding officer of tho First Battalion of tho Auckland Regiment, at a special ceremony held in the Drill Hall, Rutland Street, last night. Colonel Macky pointed out that the band was a territorial unit, and that tho regiment owed its members and the bandmaster, Lieutenant G. W. Bowes, a very considerable de.bt of gratitude for their work. After the presentation the band played a number of items. Tho cost of the set was over £IOOO.
