SURF LIFE-SAVING
DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS CANTERBURY TEAM ARRIVES The members of the Taylor's Mistake (Canterbury) surf life-saving team, which will compete in the New Zealand championships at Milford Beach next Saturday and Sunday, arrived in Auckland yesterday morning. The team comprises:—D. 11. S.vmes (manager). J. A. Young. 11. Goldsmith, S. Kingdon, C. Hoscoe. B. Lenihan, E. McKeown. Symes is former New Zealand 220 yds and 410 yds swimming champion and. present holder of the 1500 yds Canterbury title; Young is a previous winner of the Annette Kellcrman Cup; Goldsmith was New Zealand junior surf champion last year, and this season has won the belt men's championship and open surf championship of Canterbury. These three swimmers visited Australia last season with the New Zealand surf team, the first to go overseas. '
That the Taylor's Mistake team is a strong one is indicated by the fact that this season it has won the Ray Blank Cup for the Canter bury championship and the Kesteven Cup, both being for six-men events, also the Black and White Cup for the four-men relay competition
