MAORI CHILDREN

VICTORIA LEAGUE PARTY ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME Tables laden with party food, and decorated with bowls of pink paper roses, greeted the *l3 Maori children from the Moehau and Tinopai schools when they were entertained at tea at the Victoria League rooms last evening. Bright paper caps added to the enjoyment of the occasion, the handiwork of members of the ever-ready committee, who were hostesses for the party.

Special guests were the headmasters of the two schools, Mr. L. Walbridge and Mr. G. W. J. Shepherd, together with their wives. The parents were represented by Mrs. S. March, Mr. N. Maxwell and Mr. P. Harding. The guests were welcomed by the president of the league, Mrs. J. B. Macfarlane. Prior to the tea party a bus chartered by members of the league took the children to see the aerodrome at Mangere, 15 of the party going up for a flight. Ice cream was provided by members of the Auckland Aero Club. Among the hostesses for the party were: —Mrs. A. H. Keesing (honorary secretary), Mrs. J. K. Black, Mrs. K. H. Gifi'ord, Mrs. H. Thronscn, Mrs. T. Tync, Mrs. H. S. Gulliver. Mrs. R. Baird, Mrs. A. C. Green, Mrs. T. T. Kopiha. Mrs. J. J. Graham, Miss I. Lorie, Miss K. Keesing, Miss J']. Keesing, Miss E. M. Stathani and Miss L.
