BY ONE WHO KNOWS
THE AFFAIRS OF CHINA Knowing his China from a long diplomatic career, Sir Eric Teiclunan is peculiarly fitted to talk about the trials and problems of the great Yellow Empire. Continually questioned on the subject, Sir Erie decided that tho best thing ito do was to sit down and write it all out. He modestly calls the result "Affairs of China."
It is a useful historical survey of all that lies behind tho present pressing problems of the East. The author is conscientious in his treatment of the past, and quite free from ideological bias.
Sir Erie will be satisfied if his book fulfils its purpose and enables us to watch the unfolding drama of the East with understanding and, perhaps, with a new awareness which can do no harm.
"Affairs of China," by Sir Eric Tcichmnn (Mcthuen).
