FREE CHURCH LEADER
WELCOME TO MINISTER One of the most outstanding Free Church leaders of England, the Rev. Dr. R. C. Gillie, and Mrs. Gillie arrived from Wellington by the limited express Thursday morning. Dr. Gillie is to occupy the pulpit of St. David's Presbyterian Church during the absence of the Rev. W. Bower Black abroad for eight months. Dr. and Mrs. Gillie wore met at the railway station by the Rev. G. Budd, interim moderator, Mr. J. Fleming, session clerk, Mr. A. W. Hunter, secretary of the board of managers, Sister Gladys, deaconews of the church, Mrs. A. N. Campbell, president of the Women's Missionary Union, and most of the other office-bearers of the church. Dr. and Mrs. Gillie and these representatives of the congregation were afterward entertained by Miss Fisher at morning tea at tho manse. A cordial welcome was expressed by Mr. Budd to Dr. and Mrs. Gillie, and in reply Dr. Gillie said how much they appreciated the warmth of the reception accorded them in this country.
