STUDENT OF MUSIC

RETURN TO DOMINION [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] "WELLINGTON, Monday After spending ten years abroad in the study of music, Miss Dorothy Davies, daughter of Mr. David Davies, of Auckland, arrived to-day by the Awatea from Sydney. The past two years Miss Davies spent studyingunder the two famous musicians, Aurtur and Terese Belir, who owned a villa on the shores of Lake Como, on the ItalianSwitzerland border. Miss Davies said that to this villa professional students came from all over the world, every language being spoken there. Classes were held during the summer months, students living with Italian families. A novel innovation in the classes, Miss Davies added, was the system whereby the whole class attended each other's lessons, thereby learning from each one's mistakes. Familiar visitors included the famous conductor Toscanini. Miss Davies will visit Auckland next week.
