STREET DISTURBANCE
THREE MEN CHARGED VARIOUS OFFENCES ALLEGED A melee in Albert Street on Friday night was responsible for the appearance of three men before Messrs. J. A. Algie and V. A. Coyle, J.IVs, on Saturday morning on varying charges. They were remanded until to-morrow morning. Sub-Inspector Fox prosecuted. , Trevor James Porter, labourer, aged 22, was charged with being found drunk in Albert Street, procuring liciuor during tho currency of a prohibition order, resisting Constable P. Quinn';* assaulting him, and using obscene language. William John Hicks, waiter, aged 21, was alleged to have obstructed Constable I. G. Gibbs, resisted him, and behaved in a threatening manner. Ernest Sidney Porter, labourer, aged 18, was charged with having committed mischief b.v .wilfully damaging to the extent of 10s a window of, the police car in which the three men were taken to tho station, with using obscene language and with obstructing and resisting Constable Gibbs.
