CRUISE LINER

FOURTH THIS SEASON NARKUNDA DUE TO-MORROW EXCURSIONS FOR TOURISTS The fourth cruise ship to visit Auckland this season, the I*. and 0. liner Narkunda, is due from Brisbane at seven o'clock to-morrow morning. She has a total of 591 passengers, of whom 19 are travellers from England landing at Auckland. After remaining at Auckland until 11 p.m. on New Year's Day the Narkunda will pursue an itinerary similar to that of the last cruise ship to visit New Zealand, the Orford. Instead of proceeding south, she will make a caii at Bay of Islands, being due there at 8 a.m. on Monday, and she will sail for Sydney at 7 p.m. that day. As usual, a number of excursions have been arranged to Botorua, Wairakei, Taupo and AVaitomo by the Tourist Department. Several parties will leave shortly after the ship berths on two-day tours through the southern part of the province, spending the night at Taupo, To Kuiti or Waitomo, according to their itineraries. Instead of rejoining the ship next day at Auckland one party will continue north to spend the night at Whangarei and the following day will make a trip through the kauri forests, allowing the tourists to rejoin the ship at Bay of Islands.

Day excursions will also be made b} r special train and by motor-car to Botorua on New Year's Day,-while sightseeing tours have been arranged about the city and suburbs.
