CONFERENCE IN LONDON POSSIBILITIES OF FUTURE * [from our ows correspondent] LONDON, Dec. 8 Experts of I t countries met in London to-dav to begin preliminary discussions for international television programmes. "People in London may see Herr Hitler taking the salute at Nuremberg, and sets in homes in Buenos Aires may record the Lord Mayor's Show in London," said one of the delegates. "But such developments are still in the future. They must remain no more than a possibility for some years to come." ; ■ Sir George l«ee, engineer-in-chief of the General Post Office, opened the conference, which is ' being held in private, and began with a discussion on the elimination of noises which interfere with telephone conversations. Next week ,the delegates will be 'v faeed with the main task—to attempt to agree on the basis of a standardisation of international telephone and television transmitting systems, which, will pave the way for world-wide "hook-ups."
