COLD IN BRITAIN BLANKET OF SNOW 20 DEGREES OF FROST SERVICES DISLOCATED By Telrpraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received December 22 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 22 Another 15 deaths have occurred throughout Britain from the cold which is blanketing the country with snow, holding up train services and making the roads impassable. London's underground railways were dislocated for an hour as the result of short circuits at frozen points. London is under inches of snow, for the first time for years. Some of tho country districts are under several feet of snow. The maximum temperature in Britain to-day was 2S degrees and tho minimum 12 degrees. The Channel ferry services are dislocated. Tho Continent continues to freeze. . DELAYS TO TRAFFIC SNOW FALLS ALL DAY, LONDON AND THE SOUTH (Received December 22, 6.5 p.m.) British Wireless LONDON, Dec. 21 Snow fell all day in London and Southern England to-day, causing considerable traffic and railway delays. The maximum temperature in London was '23 degrees Fahrenheit. Twenty-five degrees of frost were registered yesterday at Dalwhinnil, (Scotland. TOUR WITH SHOVELS ELECTION CANDIDATES LONDON, Dec. 21 The candidates in tho Kinross byelection toured the snow-bound electorate, where polling took place today, armed with shovels with which to dig themselves out in tho event of snowdrifts. Tho candidates are the Duchess of 'Atholl, former Conservative member, who is seeking re-election as an Independent, and Mr. W. McNair Snadden, official Conservative.
