FEW ANGLERS IN DISTRICT HEAVY HOLIDAY BOOKINGS [by telegraph OWN correspondent] TAUPO, Thursday With thf> continued wet and windy weather little angling is being done in the Taupo area, and more particularly on the lake. The camp sites in the domain and the old orchard are practically empty. Bookings for both .these grounds, however, are easily 200 per cent heavier than for last year. All the local hotels, fishing lodges and boarding houses are fully booked up and have had to reject a large number of requests for accommodation. Fishing from Fulljames Camp several anglers had good sport. The Hon. Richard Grevell, of England, with the wet ewe wasp fly, took seven fish in good condition, his best being of 61b. The Hon. Ambrose Grevell took five in one day, including one of 6ilb. Lieutenant T. W. Best, of the Leander, at the same spot, has been taking an average of eight fish daily, his best weighing s Jib. Some were taken on the dry fly, but most on the wet fly. Captain von Braun has been landing an average of five daily and considers the fish to be in splendid condition. His best so far is one of sjjlb. Major-General D. Harvey, of India, and Mrs. Harvey, who are at Fulljames Camp for a fishing holiday, landed two fish on the evening rise, the heavier being of 4ilb.
