ELECTION PETITION
BAY OF ISLANDS SEAT DATE OF COURT FITTING [by TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] KAIKOHE, Wednesday Advice has been received that January 17 has been fixed as the date for the sitting at Kaikohe of the Election Court, consisting of the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, and Mr. Justice Blair, to hear the petition in respect of the Bay of Islands Parliamentary ejection. However, application has been made to the Chief Justice to have the hearing of the caso delayed on account of the possibility of a number of witnesses being away 011 holiday during January.
The petitioners alleged that irregularities occurred in connection with the taking of the poll and seek a decision that would result in the election of Mr. H. F. Guy (National), who' was declared defeated by 163 votps by Mr. C. W. Boswell (Government).
