CRITIC ATTACKED OPPOSITION LEADER MR. CCRTIN'S RETORT By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright (Received December 20, O.IS p.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 20 A political sensation has been caused by the Federal Minister of Civil Aviation, Mr. H. V. Thorby, who is reported to have bitterly attacked the Leader of the Labour Opposition, Mr. ,T. Curtin, as a result of the latter's criticism of the proposed Air Court of Inquiry, says the Sun. Mr. Thorby is said to have described Mr. Curtin as "a political crank who deliberately misquoted and miscontrued Government statements and plans." It is stated that Mr. Thorby added: "I wish I had the power to put traitors against a wall and shoot them." Replying from Perth by telephone to-day Mr. Curtin eaid he intends to ask tho Prime Minister, Mr. J. A. Lyons, to accept responsibility for Mr. Thorby's "Fascist-like declaration" or otherwise to gazette him out of office.
