NEED FOR AMBULANCE

PATIENTS FROM PUKEKOHE ELIMINATION of delays The desirability of an ambulance being stationed in the Pukekohe district in order to reduce the possibility of delay in the transport of patients to the Auckland Hospital was stressed by Mr. G. T. Parvin at a meeting of the Hospital Board. He said many secidentg took place in this area and the provision of an ambulance would mean a considerable reduction in the time required to transport the victims to Auckland. . . , "In the past 12 months hundreds of patients have come from the Pukekohe district to the Auckland Hospital, Mr. Parvin said. "There are some parts of the area which are 100 miles from Auckland, and, if an ambulance could be stationed at Mercer or Pukekohe, it might mean the saving of many valuable lives." , It was agreed to refer the question to the Finance Committee, with a view to ascertaining the terms under which the St. John Ambulance Association would extend its service to provide an ambulance in the Pukekohe area.
